Description
HOFNIL-FR A2M is a widely used flame retardant known for its effectiveness and versatility across a range of
applications. Melamine Coated Ammonium Polyphosphate combines ammonium polyphosphate with a melamine
coating. This coating enhances the thermal stability, water resistance, and overall performance of the flame
retardant in various applications. It features extremely low water solubility, is completely insoluble in organic
solvents, non-hygroscopic, non-flammable, and has improved powder flowability.
Applications of HOFNIL-FR A2M:
-
Plastics and Polymers: Used as a flame retardant in polypropylene, polyethylene, polyurethanes, and other
thermoplastics. - Coatings: Ideal for use in intumescent coatings for buildings and steel structures.
-
Textiles: Enhances the flame retardancy of fabrics used in public transportation, children’s clothing, and other
safety-related textiles. - Adhesives and Sealants: Provides flame retardant properties in various adhesive and sealant formulations.
Advantages of HOFNIL- FR A2M:
- Enhanced Flame Retardancy: Promotes the formation of a stable char layer during combustion.
- Increased Thermal Stability: Higher decomposition temperature compared to uncoated APP.
- Improved Water Resistance: Reduced solubility in water, making it suitable for humid environments.
-
Better Compatibility: Easier to incorporate into different formulations without adversely affecting the
material properties. - Reduced Smoke and Toxicity: Lower smoke production and reduced toxicity of combustion products.
- Non-hygroscopic: Does not absorb moisture from the environment, enhancing stability.
- Non-flammable: Safe to handle and store without risk of ignition.
